Upper Snake Idaho Master Naturalists – Sand Creek WMA Educational Signage – Phase 1

Phase I of the Sand Creek Wildlife Management Area was funded to develop, fabricate, and install new, long-lasting educational signs along the existing nature trail.  The new signs were needed to replace 20 year-old signs that were faded and illegible, damaged by fire, or no longer relevant to the habitats they overlooked.  The purpose of the inform and educate visitors about the diverse wildlife habitats in the area, and the importance of managing these habitats for the benefit of many different wildlife species in the Upper Snake River Plain and Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem.  In addition, new signs were installed at parking areas to better direct visitors to inconspicuous trail heads, and to provide overview information about the habitat on each trail to visitors who might only fish or camp rather than walk the nature trail.
