Mackay School District 182 – Mackay High School Cold Water Facility
Mackay High School would use the grant in order to construct a new facility, which will be tailored to producing cold water fish. The school currently has a greenhouse that is cramped that holds cold and warm water fish. With a separate fish rearing area, the school will be able to raise fish for production and be able to be a certified disease free facility in order to partner with the IDFG in the rearing of fish for state waters. With the combination of the FFA chapter’s fundraising, school support, and other grants received and to be received it will permit the school to have a state of the art fish lab that prepares students for the local careers in fish biology.
