IDFG Headquarters – Wild Trunk Update
For the past 25 years Idaho Department of Fish and Game has maintained approximately fifteen wildlife education trunks that are used by teachers in the Treasure Valley, boy & girl scouts, Nature Centers & Discovery Centers and more to enhance lessons on particular species, subjects and topics. The trunks are in dire need of upgrading with new formats of videos, books and other materials. The storage containers are beat up and some of the biology aspects (hides, antlers, skeletons etc.) also need attention. There is also a need for a track cast trunk which would be highly utilized. The wildlife trunks fill a void for hundreds of students a year whose schools can no longer go on field trips. Even for those who do go on field trips, they are the perfect addition.
