When the Pend Oreille Chapter of the Idaho Master Naturalist Program decided to “adopt” the Waterlife Discovery Center, this grant helped move the facility to a full service “operational” community resource to accommodate visiting school groups and keep the building and grounds functioning by funding: native plants for landscaping & teaching, coin-operated fish food dispenser, display for brochures, flat screen TV/DVD player, bulletin board, school field trip supplies, book case, internet for one year, educational library, interpretive signs, and funds for school group bus transportation.
