The Spring Shores Road Cattle Guard Project was funded for the installation of cattle guards on Spring Shores Road/US Forest Service Road #268 to prevent animals from entering SH-21 and creating a wildlife-vehicle collision zone.  The guards allow the wildlife underpass at milepost 18.2 and the associated fencing to be used to its full potential, while improving habitat connectivity.
