Ada Soil and Water Conservation District – Avimor Conservation Easement Reintroduction

This intensive native plant reintroduction project was funded to plant over 2,000 bitter brush, 200 willow plugs, and over 1,000 mixed native flowering species to part of a 680 acre open easement in the Boise Foot Hills.  The area is highly visible and attracts horseback riders, walkers, and mountain bikers because it is attached to the Avimore Sub-division.   The goal of the project was to prevent fires, provide more habitat and food for native pollinators and animals, and to create an education trail explaining how the process was done.  Signs and markers were placed educating the public about the foothills, native species, and how to prevent fires.
