Idaho Fish & Wildlife Foundation announces 2013 Grant Recipients

The Foundation is pleased to announce the recipients of its 2013 grants program.

The Foundation awarded the Idaho Department of Fish and Game $3,500 to enhance and enlarge habitat for numerous wildlife species on the fields of Market Lake Wildlife Management Area near Idaho Falls.

The Teton Regional Land Trust received $3,856 to improve wetland habitat in Teton Valley. The Land Trust project encompasses establishing a nesting flock of trumpeter swans in the Teton Valley and installing bird diverters to prevent swan mortality and provide educational opportunities about the iconic species.

Idaho Department of Fish and Game received $5,000 for enhancements to Merrill Pond, in Eagle Idaho.

Trout Unlimited received a $3,500 grant for riparian restoration of severely degraded stream on Big Creek and riparian habitat work on the Little Creek , located in New Meadows, Idaho.

Idaho Fish and Game Department received $1,200 in funding for habitat improvement at the Deer Parks WMU (Wildlife Management Unit) and Gem State WHA (Wildlife Habitat Area) and $2,944 in funding to expand the activities of the Bear Aware Safety Education program. The program provides bear safety awareness and education programs to the general public and a wide variety of community organizations.
